As a writer and creative writing coach, when editing, I can break down the creative process to show you what works, unpick what doesn’t and help you fix it, strengthening your writing for the future. We will look at what your story, essay or memoir needs to help engage the reader and make it the best it can be.
I can help whether you are beginning with an idea or well on your way to finishing a draft. I enjoy helping people explore their creativity to make writing part of their everyday life as well as become more confident in their own voice.
Feedback Sample
I will give you a short editorial report looking at language and style, pace and flow as well as broader issues of character development and story structure.
I can signpost to resources to help you work on your own writing.
Cost: £50

Manuscript Assessment
I will take your complete manuscript or work in progress and offer you an editorial report on what’s working well and how your story could be developed.
This will cover language and style, pace and flow as well as broader issues of story structure and character development.
Cost: £20 per 1000 words (3k to 30k)
£15 per 1000 words (30k to 60k)
Over 60k words - price for job
Mentor Hour
One hour when we can talk in detail about any writing issues. Whether it’s about getting started or ideas for your work in progress. I can also offer a more coaching style hour if you are stuck with your writing or struggling with keeping going.
Add this to your feedback sample or manuscript assessment if you’d like to talk it through rather than just getting written feedback.
Cost: £80 per hour

I also offer developmental editing and proofreading. Please email me with details of your project or book and we’ll have an initial chat, then I’ll provide you with a price for the job. I base my fees on the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP) suggested minimum rates.
And I can offer longer, ongoing book coaching as well as one-off, more indepth individual sessions such as a book mapping morning. Please email me with details of your project or book and we’ll have an intial chat to see how I can help.
I am not offering copyediting or line editing at this stage. If this is something you’re interested in, do let me know and I’ll see if I can offer enough detailed feedback on a small sample of your work for you to make your own amendments in the first instance.
