A recurring theme in my notebooks is how to make time for poetry, reading, literature, and just writing in the busy, working life of a parent. It seems to crop up in my poetry too:
Slip poetry through cracks of the day
weave it through laundry;
sheets, towels, hanging to dry on the line
even odd sock balled up in the corner of duvet cover
that I can’t get out without dragging clean
damp fabric on patio slabs with a layer
of over-wintered grime and moss.
Writer’s Notebook – a series of posts releasing unfinished fragments into the world. Recognising the value in sharing.
