During the past 20 years, I have written and edited a wide variety of content both for print and online. Here is a link to my Contently portfolio.
Start up company Flower Sisters wanted website copy ready for the launch of their flower growing, selling and cutting business. I visited the walled garden which is the home of their business, interviewed the two sisters, then provided them with website copy, social media profile copy, words for a marketing postcard, as well as a paragraph for a partner venue.
I regularly write and edit web content for Conscious Craft. This includes a monthly newsletter, social media profiles, blog posts as well as marketing copy for other outlets.
Also, for two years, I reviewed, edited and managed content on the Crawley Borough Council website, carrying out daily updates, analytics, and quality assurance checks as well as working with content owners in service departments to assess and revise particular sections.
I am currently editing Children’s Centre Leader journal. I work with Hempsall’s to commission the features, then edit, liaising with universities and local authorities. I design the journal with Adobe InDesign, then upload the pdf to the Children’s Centre Leader website, create a newsletter share the journal as well as upload individual articles to blogging platform, Medium.
I have written more than 100 magazine features for childcare, education and membership magazines. These are mainly research or policy based, examples of professional good practice, or real-life stories.
Leaflets and brochures
Hempsall’s commissioned me to collate information that was available to support childcarers delivering places for two-year-olds. I contacted partner organisations and wrote the content for this checklist and sources of support for providers, taking into account comments and amendments throughout the approval process.
I have written a series of early years practice guides for PACEY members. I have researched and written guides on: outdoor play, transitions, wraparound care, safe use of technology, numbers, shapes and problem solving, mark making, sharing books, supporting the home learning environment and imaginative play. This work is not available to the public, so let me know if you’d like to see a sample of my writing.
Contact me if you’d like to see further samples of my work or discuss a project you have in mind.
